Purely Sublime was created by twin sisters Stacey and Tracey in 2008. Both graduated with Bachelor's degrees in Graphic Design from Youngstown State University in Ohio and always had a strong interest in crafts, product marketing and graphic design even in early childhood before they knew marketing and graphic design existed. As children, they made creative signs, labels and flyers to promote sales of everything from lemonade sold from a front yard stand to handmade arts and crafts they had created.
Stacey and Tracey were first exposed to the art of soap making in 2005 while visiting a relative. Carol Triplett, the twins' aunt, had recently become involved in melt and pour soap making and sold the handmade bars occasionally at local craft shows. Both sisters were inspired by the artistic quality, fragrances, and natural ingredients of the soaps and offered to design a logo and labels to develop a branding identity for the soaps their aunt sold at shows and online. As the sisters researched handmade soaps on the internet in order to design proper artwork, they came upon information explaining the cold process soap making method and how it involved the selection of base oils, essential oils and natural colorants to create purposeful, holistic and artisan bars of soap. Both the technical and artistic aspect of this craft captivated their interest and, at that moment, two soap makers emerged. They continued to study soap making and aromatherapy while producing soaps and bath products for themselves as well as for family and friends.
With the arrival of a new grandchild, Carol Triplett decided to discontinue her small business and limit soap making for personal use in order to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. At this juncture, Stacey and Tracey felt this was the passing of the proverbial baton and decided to sell their handmade soaps and bath products online and at craft shows. They utilized their graphic design background to create the Purely Sublime logo; design and brand product packaging using recycled and biodegradable materials; and design/develop their own website for online sales.
Soap making is now the twins' passion and their creative background has become a means to share this passion with the world.
